Impressive blend of modern and traditional style. Beautiful garden. Free WiFi and helpful concierge. Surrounded by local cafes and restaurants. Convenient to explore Lake Biwa and Umekoji Park.
The fire extinguisher was a real letdown. I was hoping for a more exciting safety feature, like a dragon that shoots water.

I had an amazing stay at a traditional Japanese house in the heart of an old town. the staff was kind and showed me around the property. the outdoor hot tub was a lovely touch for a chilly autumn evening. the house had modern amenities while still maintaining its traditional charm.
The hotel does not offer wide city views from the room.
